Indiana State Personnel Department
Debra Minott is the Director of the Indiana State Personnel Department
and serves on the cabinet of Governor Daniels. Prior to
assuming this role in January 2005, she spent 25 years
practicing law. After beginning her career with Ice Miller
in 1979, she moved into various in-house legal roles in
several large companies based in Indiana.
Debra spent 11
years at Eli Lilly and then moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana
to become General Counsel of the Essex Group, a copper
wire and cable manufacturer. She returned to Indianapolis
and became the General Counsel of Guidant Corporation,
a position she held until 2004.
Debra holds a bachelors
degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan and
a juris doctor degree from the University of Michigan
Law School. She is admitted to practice law in the States
of Indiana and California. Debra serves as a member of
the Board of Trustees of the Indianapolis Civic Theatre
and the board of the Greater Indianapolis Chapter of the
American Heart Association. |
