"Learning to Lead an Increasingly Diverse Workforce"
In leading organizations, diversity is no longer limited to increasing representation and building equality. Rather, diversity is about helping the organization achieve its strategic results and to be more competitive in a global marketplace. Given the demographic shifts we’re experiencing across the globe, growing competition, advanced technology, the political climate changes,  and the anticipated labor and skill shortage due to an aging workforce, companies will not survive in the next ten years without a clear strategy on how they will lead an increasingly diversity workforce.   This presentation will provoke participants to think more strategically and more broadly about diversity---as a business strategy; as a tool to fuel innovation and to create better solutions; and as a competitive advantage.

“People Like Me”
A diverse workplace where differences are valued, rather than emphasized, can lead to growth in market share, revenue and profit. Media organizations are leveraging workplace diversity to create new products and services for people of different cultures, generations and genders. It’s all about taking care of People Like Me.
Dr. Nancy Kovanic, Isaac Paul & Assoc –
"The Differences between Boomers and Gen X & Y in the Workplace"
It’s no secret that each generation has its own unique distinction and contribution in the workplace. As Boomers face retirement, it appears that the gap widens between the generations. This presentation will explore the uniqueness of the Boomers, Generation X & Generation Y. We will explore how and why these differences exist in the workplace and what can be done to improve interpersonal relationships between generations.
Carmen E. DeRusha, Economic and Community Development, Purdue Cooperative Extension Service, Marion County
Ivan Crosling, National Association of African Americans in Human Resources –
"Affinity Groups Beyond Networking"
Corporate affinity groups mean much more to a business than providing a mechanism through which like-minded, closely-aligned employees gather to network. If structured and managed properly, with buy-in and support from senior-level management, affinity groups can help a business better achieve results, from sales to higher levels of employee satisfaction and loyalty. Affinity Groups or Employee Network Groups (ENG) can serve as a major resource for community outreach, volunteer programs, assist in succession planning, and target resources for identifying qualified candidates for vacant positions.
