Judging Criteria
COMPANY SIZE
Companies will be evaluated in the category or categories they choose
to participate in based upon the number of employees
who are employed in the Tri-State area. There are four
company size groups:
• 1 to 250 employees
• 251 to 500 employees
• 501 to 1250 employees
• 1251 or more employees.
CATEGORIES
Companies will compete within their size group in three award categories. The award categories are Diversity, Family Friendly Work Environment and Scheduling, and Family Friendly Health and Benefit Programs.
Companies are encouraged to compete in all award categories: Diversity, Family Friendly Work Environment, and Family Friendly Health and Benefit Programs. For companies with multiple sites, the practices and benefits included in the nomination form must be offered at a branch of the organization located in the Tri-State area.
TOPICS
We encourage you to tell us about the programs and/or benefits your company offers to its employees. Suggested topics for each of the three award categories include, but are not limited to the following:
I. Family Friendly Work Enviornment and Scheduling
- Describe how your company promotes a family friendly enviornment by explaining your company's work enviornment and scheduling programs.
- What are your company policies for flextime.
- What are your company policies for job sharing and/or telecommuting?
- What programs are offered for child/elder care, sick baby subsidizing, referral help, flexible spending accounts, etc.?
- Describe company policies beyond the legal requirements to support FMLA.
II. Family Friendly Health and Benefit Programs
- Describe company programs for recreation, team events, picnics, etc.
- Describe the health and benefit programs your company offers that promote a family friendly atmosphere.
- What programs are offered for EAP/mental health, substance abuse counseling, etc.?
- Describe your company programs for profit sharing, retirement, 401k, etc.
- Describe company wellness programs.
- What programs are offered for education assistance?
- What programs are offered for personal or professional development?
II. Diversity Programs
- Describe the goals for which your company is striving in the area of diversity.
- How does your company define diversity?
- What specific programs have been implemented to promote and support diversity?
- Provide evidence of key leadership support and involvement in your Diversity Program.
- Describe what make your Diversity Program different from others. Present examples of activities, programs, policies, etc. from your Diversity Program such as, cultural or diversity training for supervisors/employees, alternative holidays, hiring practices, etc.
COMPANY LOCATION MAP
For candidates with multiple sites, the practices and benefits included in the application must be offered at a branch of the organization located in our target area. The target area in Southwestern Illinois, Southeastern Indiana, and Northwestern Kentucky includes the counties on the following map.
